Scaffolding Engineer
You will be responsible for the design of all types of industrial scaffolding projects, mainly in the Marine Industry;
– Scaffold Engineer is responsible, as part of a scaffolding team, for erecting scaffolds which are adequate for the purpose they were intended and ensuring that they are stable and in a safe condition;

Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grit blasting, or chemical treatment

The Welder / Burner / Pipe Fitter is responsible for carrying out welding, burning/cutting, fabrication and pipe fitting works on steel, aluminium, stainless steel and other materials as required within the Company’s shipyard and marine operations. The role includes measuring, cutting, fitting, aligning, fabricating, welding, installing, repairing and testing metal components, structures and pipework systems in line with drawings, job instructions, welding procedure specifications, safety rules and quality standards. The candidate must be able to work to a high standard, preferably with solid aluminium experience, and support both fabrication and ship repair works in a safe and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• To carry out welding, burning/cutting, fabrication and pipe fitting repairs on different components, structures and pipework systems, and on different materials, as may be required for the specific job.
• To measure, mark, cut, shape, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, pipe sections, supports, brackets, machinery frames, bridge parts, pressure vessels and other marine or industrial structures.
• To manufacture, repair and modify a varied range of steel, aluminium and stainless-steel parts, pipe spools and assemblies in accordance with Company requirements, drawings and job instructions.
• To read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, pipework drawings, isometric drawings, sketches and work instructions to determine the required welding, burning/cutting, fabrication and pipe fitting works.
• To prepare materials and pipework for assembly, including cutting, bevelling, grinding, drilling, cleaning, alignment, tack welding and final fit-up prior to welding or installation.
• To perform MIG, TIG and MMA welding of steel, aluminium and stainless-steel components based on the specifications of the drawings, work instructions and approved welding procedures.
• To operate and maintain welding, burning, plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting and associated metalworking equipment safely and correctly for the task being carried out.
• To fit, align, install, repair and replace pipes, flanges, valves, bends, reducers, supports, brackets and related pipework components for marine, shipyard and industrial systems as instructed.
• To bolt, tack weld or weld components, structures and pipework assemblies, ensuring correct alignment, tolerances, finish and quality of workmanship.
• To support pressure testing, leak testing, dye checks, x-ray inspections, gas-tight tests and other quality or class-related inspections, including rectification of defects where required.
• To follow, create and help maintain welding procedure specifications, hot work controls, pipe fitting standards, safety rules, quality standards and Company procedures.
• To ensure that works are performed in a safe and professional manner, taking special care with hot works, confined spaces, isolation from electrical/fire hazards, permits, ventilation and housekeeping requirements.
• To keep work areas, tools and equipment clean, safe and organised, and to take proper care of Company equipment, facilities and materials.
• To work individually or as part of a team, coordinating with supervisors, project managers, engineers and other trades to complete works accurately, safely and on time.
Requirements
Skills and Competencies:
• Previous experience in a similar role as a Welder, Burner, Fabricator and/or Pipe Fitter, preferably within a shipyard, marine, industrial or heavy engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, pipework drawings and/or isometric drawings.
• Solid experience working with aluminium, with the ability to fabricate and weld to a high standard and work to tight tolerances.
• Good working knowledge of steel, stainless steel and aluminium fabrication, welding preparation, pipe fitting methods, cutting techniques and metalworking machinery/equipment.
• Practical experience in pipe fitting, including measuring, cutting, fitting, aligning and installing pipework, valves, flanges, supports and related components.
