Procurment Clerk

Melita Marine Group has been established in Malta since 1989 and provides highest quality marine services and facilities in Malta, Greece, Libya and Spain. The group’s services include refit and repairs, yacht painting applications, agency, yacht brokerage, yacht charter, customs clearance, duty free supplies and bunkering.

The company is seeking to recruit a Procurement Clerk, on a full-time basis, to join our stores and purchasing department. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Stores and Purchasing Manager and working closely with other members within the same departments located in Malta and Greece.

The chosen candidate will be responsible to:
• Prepare order to suppliers
• Monitor shipments; ensure all parts are delivered in a timely manner and coordinate any logistics issues with suppliers and freight forwarders
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and clients
• Prepare costing and update all necessary records
• File and process all related documentation
• Participate in any other task related to the purchasing and logistics department.

Interested candidates should possess the following requisites:
• Have at least O’level standard of education
• Be fluent in both written and spoken in Maltese and English Language (any other language is considered an asset)
• Be willing to work in a dynamic team
• Be able to work flexible hours when needed outside office hours
• A positive attitude and desire to learn and improve skills
• Have good working knowledge of office systems such as Word, Excel, outlook etc.

Aluminum Fabricator/ Welder

Melita Marine Group has been established in Malta since 1989 and provides highest quality marine services and facilities in Malta, Greece, Libya and Spain. The group’s services include refit and repairs and this vacancy opening is for Melita Shipyard.

The company is seeking to recruit a qualified Fabricator/Welder on a permanent basis and have experience in the Marine Industry, and solid experience working with Aluminum.

Requirements
– Must be able to read engineering drawings
– Produce accurate cutting lists
– Previous experience within similar roles
– Working knowledge of metalworking machinery and equipment
– Ability to fabricate and weld to a high standard and work to tight tolerances
– Working either independently or as part of a team, you will be expected to demonstrate a positive Health and Safety engagement whilst producing accurate high- quality work.

Job Description
– Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint
– Installs or repairs equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings.
– Layout, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts, and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements.
– The candidate will also be required to maintain, set up and adjust welding equipment to function correctly for different tasks, fabricate components and structures primarily using Aluminium, bolt or weld components and structures.

Purchasing Runner

As part of its ongoing growth, Melita Power Diesel Ltd is working to expand its Stores and Purchasing Department and hence seeking to recruit a Purchasing Runner.
Responding directly to the Stores and Purchasing Manager and working closely with the Store Keeper and Logistics Clerk, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the collection and timely delivery of the group’s purchases both Internally and directly to clients.

The ideal candidate should:
• Be fluent in both written and spoken English Language (any other language is considered an asset).
• Be organised and detail oriented;
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role;
• Be in possession of a clean driving license and police conduct;
• Be willing to work in a dynamic team;
• Be able to work flexible hours when needed outside office hours;
• Have a good knowledge of local suppliers;
• Have good working knowledge of office systems such as Word, Excel, outlook etc.

Electrician

Melita Power Diesel Ltd has been established in 1998, an active modern facility, which markets, sells and services complete power solutions for marine and industrial propulsion and power plants.

Job description:
The company is seeking to recruit an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure, the respective job will involve installing electrical wiring, troubleshooting and repairs.

The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems, low voltage, 110V, 230V and 400V.

Experience in the marine sector, knowledge of plumbing and electronics will be considered as an asset.

Basic Requirements:
– Minimum 3 years experience in the field.
– Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
– Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
– Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
– Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
– Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work extended hours.
– Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician
– Valid Maltese License A & B
