One of the world’s largest yachts, 80m Amevi, has been recently spotted at the Grand Harbour Marina in Valletta. According to Malta Today, Oceanco built superyacht will undergo refit works at the Melita Shipyard after a number of workers employed by Melita Power Diesel were spotted on the vessel.
Amevi is allegedly owned by an Indian businessman Lakshmi Mittal based in the United Kingdom. Mittal, whose net worth is $12.7 billion, is the chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steelmaking company. He also holds a 34% stake in Queens Park Rangers Football Club.
As for the superyacht, she can accommodate 16 guests in 8 cabins with an interior design by Albert Pinto and an exterior design by Nuvolari & Lenard. Her key features include a fully-equipped gym, Jacuzzi, elevator, helipad, swimming pool and a tender garage. From a technical standpoint, Amevi is powered by MTU 16V 595 TE70 engines of 4,680hp each, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 20 knots and cruise at 14 knots.
