It’s Summer, and it’s time to get out on the water!

Melita Marine Group’s highly active charter department will help you find the right boat for your holiday. You can see the list of boats that include yachts, Catamarans and various other play crafts available for charter and listed with us by clicking here.

We specialise in charters in and around Malta & Sicily. Our great depth of local knowledge gives us immense insight to help you book your ideal charter holiday. This month, we are promoting charter on the Levazzi 40, a sailing catamaran that can accommodate up to 14 guests, with toys onboard for you and your guests if you enjoy splashing about in the water.

Our charter department experts have put together a list of MUST HAVE items to carry on your day charter. Keep these items in mind when packing for your charter holiday.

1. A Good Book
For those quiet moments when you’re not sailing, swimming, exploring or eating, it’s worth taking a good book with you.

2. Music and Bluetooth Speaker
There’s nothing better than having the freedom to listen to your music on a yacht charter holiday.

3. Waterproof CameraThe Mediterranean has an abundance of marine life to explore. So anchor down, get your snorkelling gear on and capture the beautiful myriad of marine life with a waterproof camera.

4. A Good Hat
Often forgotten but very important, a hat is an essential item to pack on a yacht charter. You’ll be spending a lot of time outside under the sun, and it’s easy to get sunburnt without the additional protection and shade that a hat gives you.

5. A Life Jacket
We advise you to wear a life jacket on your charter, making sure it’s in good condition before using it. Our operators usually provide emergency lifejackets, but we advise you to take your own, especially if you have children on board with you.

6. Sunscreen
Like the hat, sunscreen is often forgotten, and it’s so important to stay well protected under the strong UV rays of the Mediterranean sun. Children are especially prone to sunburn on yacht charters as they’re in and out of the water swimming every day. We advise taking shade under the cockpit canopy or awning when the sun is at its’ strongest, between 11 am and 2 pm.

7. Key Float
A floating keychain is an item you should never be without on a yacht charter. If your keys or phone happen to go overboard, you won’t have to worry about diving down to retrieve them with a good float!
